MY BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Robin L. Smith is a national television personality, best selling author, preacher, keynote speaker, and licensed psychologist. Dr. Smith’s long awaited relationship book, Lies At The Altar - The Truth About Great Marriages   is a #1 National Bestseller on the lists of the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Publisher’s Weekly, Entertainment Weekly and many other publications. Dr. Smith’s first book, Inspirational Vitamins, A Guide To Personal Empowerment – Foreword written by Stevie Wonder has been received with great enthusiasm and acclaim. Whether on television, addressing one of her convention or seminar audiences or preaching a sermon, Dr. Robin, as she is affectionately called, is best known for delivering a powerful and practical message. Audiences love her because she is down-to-earth and shares information using humor and compassion…she is always in the moment!

Dr. Robin has worked as a national and local television correspondent and appeared numerous times on news and entertainment television and radio programs. Dr. Smith is a regular contributor to The Oprah Winfrey Show and now has her own radio show on XM Satellite Radio. XM audiences can tune in to The Dr. Robin Show on Oprah & Friends, Channel 156. Dr. Robin’s call-in program can be heard five days a week where people can get their daily dose of Inspiration, Information and Empowerment.  Her past credits include NBC/The Today Show, she worked for ABC News/Good Morning America, and appeared on CBS/The Early Show, MSNBC, The Fox News Channel, and many other news and talk show formats. Dr. Robin hosted "With An Eye On Life", a healthy living news segment as well as the news segment, "Ask Dr. Robin" on KYW-TV3, in Philadelphia. She’s been featured on the nightly news and was a regular contributor on the weekend news. Her credits also include an award-winning documentary on Women and AIDS, and several instructional videos on Stress Management and other health related issues. Billboard Magazine featured Dr. Robin when she appeared as the motivational speaker for the music industry at the Impact ConventionDr. Robin is one of the most sought after speakers and relationship experts in the Country. You often find Dr. Robin’s words of wisdom as an expert in national publications. She was featured in the April 2006 edition of O Magazine.

In addition to Dr. Robin’s busy media and speaking schedule, she is the Founder and President of Ordered Steps International, Inc., a business-consulting firm. She develops seminars and workshops for corporations and organizations nationwide. She consults with corporations and institutions around issues of change management, stress management, human difference and diversity, managerial effectiveness training, violence in the work place, debriefing of critical incidents, sexual harassment, and productivity in the work place. In addition, Dr. Smith consults with educational institutions to improve learning opportunities for educators and students, teaching academic and social empowerment strategies. She is frequently a guest speaker and lecturer for professional organizations, religious and civic groups, schools, political events, as well as sorority and fraternity affairs. You can find Dr. Smith delivering a commencement address at a university, speaking to a group of youth at an inner city school, or working with the senior leadership in a corporation – she is equally at home in these diverse worlds. Dr. Robin also enjoys her role as an adjunct professor at Palmer Theological Seminary, fomerly, Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Dr. Smith earned her Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Temple University, her master’s degree from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and obtained her undergraduate degree from LaSalle University. She was affiliated with Psychological Services at Swarthmore College, a former member of the Board of Directors of Albert Einstein Medical Center, Belmont Hospital, and Eagleville Hospital, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility. She also served on the Advisory Board of the Barristers' Association of Philadelphia.  Dr. Smith lives in Philadelphia.
